Position: Senior Analyst - Fund Investments
Directorate: Private Markets
JOB PURPOSE
Analyze, evaluate investment opportunities, and carry out detailed due diligence on investments opportunities including funds, co-investments, and Oman angle deals. Carry asset management tasks such as analyze the existing portfolio in terms of strategies, monitor General Partners performance and, manage the relationship with the existing GPs in addition to other day to day tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out commercial due diligence which includes competitive analysis, merits of the fund, its management team, track record and investment considerations/risks. In addition, conduct reference calls with other investors. Update Senior Associate/Manager on continuous basis throughout the process.
- Support in sourcing, assessing and executing co-investment and Oman-angle transactions channeled from OIA’s fund’s portfolio stakeholders.
- Present to Senior Management/Investment Committee and upon approval, ensure legal process is carried smoothly and be involved mainly in commercial points that may arise.
- Ensure legal documents are executed and closure of the investment process is done adequately.
- Build relationships with various stakeholders.
- Support other departments for Fund inflow and outflow transactions.
- Assist in analyzing and executing any post investment requirements including LPA amendments.
- Attend calls and annual meetings oversees, as and when required, regarding the Funds and provide updates to the team.
- Review the funds overall portfolio, analyze the performance of the GPs and prepare reports as and when required.
- Continuously follow and stay abreast of news related to private equity to be constantly aware of the changes and fluctuations in the market environment.
- Attend related conferences and calls to be aware of the market and build relationships with other stakeholders.
- Attend meetings in Oman and oversees with Fund Managers along with the Funds team to stay updated about new investment opportunities and existing funds in the portfolio, in addition to writing the minutes of all the attended meetings.
- Develop and maintain contacts with fund managers, limited partners, and general partners and participate in various discussions to reach the most beneficiary deals to OIA.
- Help in safeguarding important documents related to Fund investments by ensuring appropriate filing and record keeping.
- Coordinate with various departments regarding valuation, tax and any other information requested.
- Conduct analysis and generate reports as required using the appropriate tools, charts, graphs, spreadsheets, technical reports, etc.
- Support the direct supervisor in carrying out activities related to analysis and research.
- Provide data analysis to assist in the formulation of the Fund Investments’ strategy in terms of investment size, exposure type, and fund managers as and when required.
- Assist in identifying the technological needs of the Fund Investments department and raise them to the Manager Fund Investments to improve the related business processes and make the administrative tasks more efficient and effective.
- Input the transactions in the Private Equity Funds Software to keep it continuously updated.
- Comply with the implementation of departmental policies and procedures, to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled.
- Comply with all relevant health, safety, and quality requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘leading best practices’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree Specialization in Finance, Business Management, Economics, Accounting, or any other relevant field
- CFA, CMA, CPA, FMVA, FRM is a plus
- 3 to 6 years of related experience
- Fluency in English is essential
- Fluency in Arabic is advantageous
- Proficiency in MS Office is essential (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
- Experience with business related software is desirable
