Job summary

Saudi Business Machines Limited seeks an experienced SAP ABAP developer to design and build RICEF objects, ABAP programs, and data interfaces in enterprise SAP environments.

The role emphasizes ABAP OO and procedural programming, SAP HANA concepts, CDS views, and integration via IDocs, BAPIs, RFC, and REST services. You will collaborate with functional teams and support quality through ATC and Code Inspector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant SAP certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Core ABAP Programming: Develop using ABAP procedural and OO ABAP; build RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).
• Work with SAP Data Dictionary objects (Tables, Views, Domains, Data Elements).
• Enhancements & Modifications: design SAP enhancement framework solutions; work with User Exits, BAdIs, Implicit/Explicit Enhancements, Enhancement Spots; open code in Open SQL and Native SQL; optimize ABAP programs.
• Interfaces & Integration: develop/integrate IDocs, BAPIs, RFC, ALE; develop SOAP/REST web services; use SAP Integration Suite / CPI; file-based interfaces via AL11.
• SAP HANA & Modern ABAP: ABAP on HANA; CDS Views and AMDP; code-pushdown techniques; RAP; expose ABAP data/services for SAP Fiori.
• Tools & Development Lifecycle: manage transports with TMS; version control; ABAP Workbench tools; SE80/SE38/SE24.
• Testing & Quality: unit testing, debugging; Code Inspector and ATC; proper error handling and logging; SAP coding standards.
• Functional & Technical Collaboration: analyze requirements; SAP MM integration; create technical specs and docs; collaborate with consultants and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

1. Core ABAP Programming

• Develop using ABAP procedural and Object-Oriented ABAP (OO ABAP).
• Develop and maintain RICEF objects:

• Apply code-pushdown techniques for improved performance.
• Knowledge of RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model).
• Expose ABAP data and services for SAP Fiori applications.
• Support integration between backend ABAP services and Fiori applications.

7. Tools & Development Lifecycle

• Manage SAP transports using Transport Management System (TMS).
• Use version control and code management practices.
• Strong knowledge of ABAP Workbench tools, including:
  • SE80
  • SE38
  • SE24
  • Other relevant ABAP development tools

8. Testing & Quality

• Perform unit testing and debugging.
• Use Code Inspector and ATC (ABAP Test Cockpit) for code quality checks.
• Implement proper error handling and application logging.
• Follow SAP coding standards and clean-code principles.

9. Functional & Technical Collaboration

• Analyze technical requirements and understand related functional requirements.
• Work with SAP module integrations, particularly SAP MM.
• Prepare technical specifications and development documentation.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
