Job summary

Masakien Al Amna in Oman is seeking a QA/QC Painting & Coating Inspector with at least 10 years of hands-on experience to supervise on-site painting activities. You will verify surface prep, blasting, priming and coating per approved specs, monitor environmental conditions, and record DFT readings and other coatings inspections.

The role requires a Civil Engineering graduate with valid coating inspector certification (NACE Level 1/2 or BGAS-CSWIP).

Qualifications

• BE./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Valid NACE Coating Inspector Level 1 or 2, or BGAS-CSWIP Painting Inspector certification.
• 10 years of experience in QA/QC painting & coating inspection.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor all painting and coating activities at site.
• Ensure surface preparation, blasting, priming and painting are per specifications.
• Check environmental conditions before and during painting.
• Inspect and verify paint materials, mixing, application and curing.
• Record DFT and other required coating inspections.
• Identify painting defects and ensure rectification.
• Prepare inspection reports, checklists and QA/QC docs.
• Coordinate with Site Team, Consultant and Client for inspections and approvals.
• Raise Inspection Requests and follow up on approvals.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, ITPs, method statements and standards.
• Assist in closing NCRs related to painting and coating.
• Maintain records of painting inspections and testing activities.
• Strong knowledge of surface prep, blasting, coating systems and DFT measurement.
• Hands-on coating inspection experience with Holiday Detector, Salt Test Kit, Zero Test Plate.
• Wraparound Coating or Insulation Inspection certification is a plus.
• Experience on marine environment projects is an advantage.

• Check environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity and dew point before and during painting.
• Inspect and verify paint materials, mixing, application and curing.
• Conduct and record DFT (Dry Film Thickness) and other required coating inspections.
• Identify painting defects and ensure proper rectification.
• Prepare inspection reports, checklists and QA/QC documentation.
• Coordinate with the Site Team, Consultant and Client for inspections and approvals.
• Raise Inspection Requests (IRs) and follow up on approvals.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved ITPs, method statements and relevant standards.
• Assist in identifying and closing NCRs related to painting and coating works.
• Maintain proper records of all painting inspection and testing activities.
• Strong knowledge of surface preparation, blasting, coating systems and DFT measurement.
• Working knowledge and hands-on experience in coating inspection and testing with a Holiday Detector, Salt Test Kit, and Zero Test Plate.

Qualification:
