🏭 Hiring: Plant General Manager – Power & Water Operations

📍 Oman

Lead all aspects of power and water plant operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance. Drive strategy, people, and performance to achieve optimal plant availability, cost efficiency, and compliance with all technical and contractual standards. This is a leadership role overseeing operations, maintenance, financial performance, and stakeholder management within one of Oman’s flagship power and water assets.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and implement the plant’s operational strategy in alignment with corporate O&M objectives.
• Oversee production planning, maintenance execution, and performance improvement programs to maximize availability and reliability.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across operations, maintenance, finance, and supply chain functions.
• Manage budgets, control costs, and ensure revenue and profitability targets are achieved.
• Provide technical direction and ensure full compliance with EPC, O&M, and PPA agreements.
• Drive continuous improvement in plant operations, technology utilization, and environmental performance.
• Ensure compliance with HSSE policies and foster a culture of “Zero Harm.”
• Oversee inventory, spare parts, and contractor performance to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Project Company, Board, and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government entities, shareholders, and local authorities.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical).
• 15+ years’ experience managing large-scale production plants, ideally within power generation and water desalination.
• Proven track record in operations and maintenance management under long-term O&M or IWPP frameworks.
• Strong techno-commercial acumen with expertise in contracts, financial oversight, and project governance.
• Demonstrated leadership ability managing diverse, multi-national teams.
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with SAP and Integrated Management Systems (IMS) preferred.
