Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering is seeking an experienced PAUT NDT Inspector to evaluate and report Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing on welded joints and critical components during offshore construction and installation, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable codes and client requirements.

You will perform inspections on offshore piping welds and structural welds, set up and calibrate PAUT equipment, interpret scans, and prepare reports to support dossier handover.

Qualifications

• PAUT knowledge or experience beneficial
• Ability to interpret PAUT data and reports
• Understanding of offshore NDT procedures and ITPs

Responsibilities

• PAUT inspections on offshore welds and components per ITPs
• Set up and calibrate PAUT equipment and probes
• Acquire and interpret A-, B-, C-, and S-scan data to size defects
• Prepare PAUT reports and ensure traceability of welds and inspection records

Job description

To perform evaluate and report Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing PAUT on welded joints and critical components during offshore construction and installation activities ensuring compliance with project specifications applicable codes and client requirements while strictly adhering to offshore HSE standards

Key Responsibilities

1. 1 PAUT Inspection ActivitiesPerform PAUT inspections on Offshore piping welds CS SS CRA Structural welds and nodesPressure vessels and pipelines as applicable Ensure inspections are carried out in accordance with Approved PAUT proceduresInspection amp Test Plans ITPs Offshore work packs


2. 2 Equipment Setup amp CalibrationSet up and calibrate PAUT equipment including Phased array probes and wedgesEncoders and scanners manual semi automated Conduct calibration using Approved reference blocksProject specific calibration standardsEnsure all NDT equipment has valid calibration certificates


3. 3 Data Acquisition amp InterpretationPerform data acquisition and analysis using PAUT softwareInterpret A Scan B Scan C Scan and S Scan dataDetect evaluate and size discontinuities such as Lack of fusionLack of penetrationCracksPorosity and inclusions


4. 4 Reporting amp DocumentationPrepare accurate and timely PAUT reportsScan plans and data filesRepair and re inspection reportsEnsure full traceability of welds and inspection recordsSupport mechanical completion pre commissioning and dossier handover
