Job summary

ELSA seeks an experienced Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) Operator to support offshore seismic operations by monitoring marine mammal activity using acoustic detection systems and assisting with environmental mitigation measures.

The role requires offshore rotation, strong reporting skills, and collaboration with Marine Mammal Observers to ensure regulatory compliance and project success.

Qualifications

• Certified Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) Operator required
• Experience operating PAM systems in offshore environments
• Knowledge of marine mammal acoustics and mitigation protocols
• Strong reporting and communication skills
• Good command of English
• Able to work offshore on a rotational basis

Responsibilities

• Operate Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) systems during offshore operations.
• Monitor and interpret acoustic data for marine mammal detection.
• Coordinate with Marine Mammal Observers on mitigation activities.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PAM equipment.
• Prepare monitoring logs and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and project procedures.
