Apt Resources is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician for an award-winning group of hotels in Europe. The successful candidate will maintain, repair, and operate mechanical systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, pumps, motors, boilers, and related equipment; troubleshoot faults; monitor performance; and coordinate with the Engineering team and external contractors.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician in 4- or 5-star hotels or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, pumps, motors, boilers and related mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and equipment specs; English proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hotel mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, pumps, motors, boilers, and plumbing-related equipment.
  • Identify mechanical faults and carry out repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor operation and performance of mechanical equipment and report defects.
  • Coordinate with Engineering teams and external contractors.
  • Maintain records of maintenance work and equipment issues.
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Job description

Our client, an award-winning group of hotels in Europe, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their Engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of the hotel's mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hotel mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, pumps, motors, boilers, plumbing-related mechanical equipment, and other building systems.
  • Identify mechanical faults and carry out appropriate repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Monitor the operation and performance of mechanical equipment and report defects or potential issues.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance in guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and plant rooms.
  • Safely use and maintain mechanical tools, equipment, and testing instruments.
  • Assist with installation, replacement, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and equipment issues.
  • Follow hotel health, safety, hygiene, and environmental procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering/Maintenance team and external contractors when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are properly stored.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Engineering or Maintenance Manager.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician, Mechanical Maintenance Technician, or similar role within 4- or 5-star hotels, luxury resorts, facilities management companies, large commercial properties, or similar technical environments.
  • Technical or vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, HVAC, or a related field is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Practical experience with HVAC systems, pumps, motors, boilers, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and perform repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools, testing equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Willingness to relocate and work in Cyprus if selected.
