An international engineering firm is offering a temporary position for a Lead Process Engineer in Sohar, Oman. Applicants are expected to have 8-10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Refinery industry. Responsibilities include leading operational problem resolution and providing support to the teams. A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering is required. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in various refinery processes and engineering standards.

Position Title: Lead Process Engineer Suhar
Location: Sohar, Oman
Duration: One year (extendable)
Start date: ASAP
Provides strong professional technical expertise for the Leadership, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of process engineering-based activities at Sohar Refinery – RPI Assets, under TL Process Engineering scope’s, through; (1) Leading the resolution of complex operational problems in Sohar refinery 2, Identifying opportunities to optimize the operation in Sohar Refinery 2, and (3) (3) Guidance and support to the operations and the corresponding engineering, maintenance, and operation teams; in order to ensure projects and service targets are achieved efficiently and to optimum standards.
Field Operations and office environment, Moderate to intensive computer screen use.
Minimum qualification required is a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)
Computer literacy including MS Office
Knowledge in software applications like PI, and LIMS etc.
Knowledge in Refinery and Aromatics operations (Process, Static & Rotating Equipment)
Knowledge in HSE (Process Safety, H2S Awareness, Basic Fire Fighting, Emergency Response)
Knowledge of DCS systems.
Understanding of Process Plant (P& ID / PFD) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field materials specifications and international standards.
