Job Title: Lead Piping Designer – Onshore Services

Role Overview

The Lead Piping Designer will be responsible for managing and executing piping design activities for onshore oil & gas projects. This includes overseeing a team of designers, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards, and delivering high-quality design outputs within schedule and budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of piping designs including plot plans, equipment layouts, piping plans, isometrics, and support details.
• Supervise and guide a team of piping designers, ensuring quality and timely delivery of design packages.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines to ensure design integration and resolve interface issues.
• Conduct design reviews for completeness, safety, accessibility, and operability.
• Prepare and check construction drawing packages including material take-offs (MTOs).
• Review vendor drawings and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Perform site surveys and incorporate field data into design deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with Lamprell’s HSES policies and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Maintain drawing registers and ensure proper documentation control.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior designers and support their development.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 12–15 years in piping design, with at least 5 years in a lead role on onshore oil & gas projects.
• Proficiency in design software such as PDMS, AVEVA, SP3D, AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of piping materials, dimensional standards, and fabrication practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI).
