A leading engineering company seeks a Design Lead in Oman for Substation projects. Responsibilities include managing design documents, coordinating with various disciplines, and ensuring quality standards. Candidates should have extensive experience in civil and structural works, specifically relating to substations, with a strong understanding of applicable codes and standards.
10-12 years, experience in Design and Detailing of Civil and Structural Works in Substations (Grid, Pooling), Power plant projects, Construction Industry, Oil and Gas, Fertilizer industry, Refineries, Thermal Power Plants, essentially covering Design of Precast, RCC Cast Insitu and Steel Buildings and Electrical Equipment Support Structures and Foundations
Should be well versed in design using American Standards. Exposure to UAE Standards is a must.
The person shall be responsible for the complete design and detailed engineering for Substations. The Design Lead shall manage and review the entire design documents and drawings for a project or a set of smaller projects including co-ordination with other disciplines viz., Electrical, instrumentation and Mechanical.
Design Lead shall co-ordinate with Design Consultants and manage the Engineering activities within budget, deliver on time and maintaining a high quality of engineering
Design Lead shall be capable of executing the engineering activities for civil & structural for Substation works & related interlinking works with the Grid. Design Lead shall be able to review Vendor engineering documents with respect to Civil & Structural design.
The Design Lead is required to be well versed in Analysis and Design & Engineering co-ordination for
The Design Lead should also have detailed knowledge of Substation equipment and their Layouts.
Furthermore, Design Lead should have the basic and detailed understanding of civil & structural drawings, GA drawings of equipment & gantry towers, foundation for transformers & other electrical equipment in Substation & Transmission Lines.
