Minimum Requirements
- Responsibilities include: analyses and prepares optimization proposals, executing the corresponding engineering actions and activities related to opportunities of optimization; ensure that Management Process Services meet strategy, tactics and operational performance goals; provide focused technical/engineering support to specific operations and the associated maintenance and operational teams in Central Process Engineering; may handle a large scope of projects simultaneously; provide guidance to junior engineers, trainees, and teams to ensure projects and service actions reach targets efficiently and to optimum standards.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry, preferably with experience in the area/assets associated with this position. Experience in Refinery Process Units (Steam Cracker, Pygas, NGLE, MTBE and Polymers plant) preferred.
- Experience in feasibility studies, FED studies and EPC projects; experience in process optimization projects and energy optimization projects.
- Experience in chemical, catalyst and tender technical evaluations and scope of work preparation; field investigation, inspections, troubleshooting, performance checks, data compilation, etc.
- Expertise in Process Plant (P&ID / PFD) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals; software applications such as Petrosim, Hysys, PI, and LIMS.
- Knowledge of Refinery, Steam Cracker and Aromatics operations (Process, Static & Rotating Equipment); experience in benchmarking studies like Solomon; Asset Master Data governance; budgeting and cost control; data integrity with various integration of information/reports.

Minimum Qualifications for this position is Bachelor degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering.
Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required); Arabic - Native (desirable).
Notable Working Conditions
Field Operations and office environment, Moderate to intensive computer screen use.
Technical
- Computer knowledge in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Good knowledge and expertise of SAP, PI, Hysys, Petrosim; knowledge of process engineering best practices; refinery commissioning and start-up; SOP interpretation.
- Knowledge in HSE (Process Safety, H2S Awareness, Basic Fire Fighting, Emergency Response); knowledge of DCS systems; proficient at interpreting Technical Drawings; providing and delivering right technical solutions to the plant and swift support as needed.
- Technical understanding of downstream petroleum industries; business understanding of HC (hydrocarbons) marketing and their movements; understanding of LP optimization; understanding of downstream petroleum business financials.
