Responsibilities
- Lead Central Process Engineering at RPI under TL Central Process Engineering’s scope, for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of process engineering-based activities.
- Act as Senior Subject Matter Expert of Process Optimization standards through guiding the delivery of Engineering processes, services and initiatives at RPI assets, including programming, coordination and follow-up to ensure work is completed effectively.
- Deliver effective process engineering solutions that meet technical requirements to ensure projects and service actions, tasks and targets are achieved efficiently with high engineering standards to optimize operational and business performance, productivity, and profitability from conception to completion on time and within budget.
Minimum Requirements
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry, preferably with experience in the area/assets associated with this position.
- Engineering role within the Oil & Gas / Refinery / Petrochemical industry.
- Experience in feasibility study, FED study and EPC project.
- Experience in process optimization projects, energy optimization projects.
- Experience in chemical, catalyst and study tender technical evaluations and scope of work preparation.
- Experience and well-versed in field investigation, inspections, troubleshooting, performance checks, data compilation, etc.
- Expertise in Process Plant (P&ID / PFD) & Engineering drawings and OEM manuals.
- Expertise in software applications like Petrosim, Hysys, PI and LIMS etc.
- Knowledge in Refinery operations (Process, Static & Rotating Equipment).
- Expertise in HSE (Process Safety, H2S Awareness, Basic Fire Fighting, Emergency Response).
- Knowledge of DCS systems.
- Good knowledge and expertise of SAP.
- Computer knowledge in MS Office applications like MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
- Experience in benchmarking studies like Solomon.
- Experience in Asset Master Data governance.
- Sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field materials specifications and international standards.
- Expertise for budgeting and cost control.
- Familiar with techniques for ensuring data integrity with various integration of information/reports.
Education requirements
- Minimum qualification required is bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent
- Language requirements - Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required); Arabic - Native (desirable)
Notable Working Conditions
- Field Operations and office environment, Moderate to intensive computer screen use.
- Technical: Computer literacy including MS Office; Business applications (PI, LIMS, SAP, PetroSim, Hysys etc.); Proficient at interpreting Technical Drawings; Supporting and delivering right technical solutions to the plant and to provide swift support as needed; Technical understanding of downstream petroleum industries; Business understanding of HC (hydrocarbons) marketing and their movements; Understanding of LP optimization.
