Job Title:Head of Supervision and Events
To oversee and manage all aspects of student supervision and school events, ensuring a safe, supportive, and enriching school environment. This role plays a key part in fostering student engagement, discipline, well-being, and holistic development beyond the academic curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Supervision and Welfare
- Design, implement, and oversee student supervision policies and duty rosters (arrival, break time, lunch, dismissal).
- Ensure that all supervision areas are adequately staffed and monitored.
- Address student behaviour and discipline concerns in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy.
- Maintain a visible presence during school hours, particularly during transitions and breaks.
- Work with Heads of Year, counsellors, and the safeguarding team to support student welfare and pastoral care.
2. Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA)
- Plan and manage the school's ECA programme in coordination with department heads.
- Ensure a diverse range of clubs and activities to cater to different student interests and age groups.
- Oversee the scheduling, promotion, and evaluation of clubs, events, and competitions.
- Monitor student participation and engagement in ECAs.
- Ensure that all ECAs are supervised by qualified staff and follow safety procedures.
3. School Events and Trips
- Organize and manage school-wide events such as Sports Day, National Day, Cultural Fairs, and Awards Ceremonies.
- Approve and oversee educational field trips and outings, ensuring risk assessments and approvals are in place.
- Coordinate logistics, permissions, and staffing for all trips and events.
4. Staff Coordination
- Lead and support teachers involved in supervision duties and extracurricular activities.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on supervision expectations and student interaction.
- Coordinate with facilities and administrative staff to ensure logistical support for activities and events.
5. Policies and Compliance
- Develop and review supervision and activity-related policies in line with school and ministry guidelines.
- Maintain records and reports of incidents, participation, and activity evaluations.
- Ensure all events and activities comply with health and safety regulations and safeguarding procedures.
