Job summary

An international oilfield services company seeks a Field Service Manager - Directional Drilling to be based in Nizwa, Oman. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering and have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Directional Drilling/MWD. Responsibilities include coordinating equipment, ensuring quality and safety standards, and preparing various reports. Applicants must have excellent communication skills in English and thorough technical knowledge of DOWNHOLE tools.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in Directional Drilling/MWD.
  • Understanding of computer applications within the proposed job environment.
  • Ability to generate clear and concise reports in a timely manner.

Job description

One of our International Oilfield Services client is seeking a Field Service Manager -Directional Drilling to be based in Nizwa, Oman.

Note: preferable Omani nationals

Job Overview:Responsible for processing routine product and/or service orders, including coordination of equipment and personnel required to meet customer requirements for jobs. Prepare equipment/tools for shipping and arrange transportation of goods purchased by both internal and external customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with management to plan, establish and maintain product and service quality objectives that are consistent with product line quality goals and objectives.
  • Regularly offer additional products or service to fill customer job orders.
  • Coordinate equipment and personnel needed for job completion.
  • Physically fill customer orders for equipment/tools by selecting items from the shops and inventory and allocate them for shipping.
  • Arrange and coordinate transportation of equipment/tools to and from shop/suppliers and the customer location or job site some of which may include selecting modes of transportation.
  • Prepare various reports including but not limited to; revenue and down equipment reports, bonus reports and cost estimate reports.
  • Attend client based morning calls during active operations, and assist in providing onshore support to both the client and the field team.
  • Sign off cargo summary, confirming package & containers have been prepared as per requirement.
  • Attend Pre-Job briefs with Field Supervisors.
  • Dispatch scheduled service personnel to customer job sites.
  • Verify that all pre-job planning and paperwork is complete and that any issues pertaining to such have been address.
  • Verify that all inspection and testing procedures are followed prior to a job.
  • Verify that all equipment inspection and testing documentation is filled out and current prior to sending the equipment to a customer location.
  • Assisting Field and workshop team in analyzing tool / operational failures.
  • Job scheduling and order entry to product line operations system.
  • Follow billing functions at facility for invoicing of equipment and services to customer.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment.
  • Comply with all company quality, health, safety and environmental (QHSE) policies and procedures. In addition, perform any function or activity that the company considers fit to achieve, ensuring all activities are carried out with due regard for QHSE policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by following QHSE policies.
  • Uploading reports on monthly basis.
  • Participation in HSE Incident Investigation as applicable.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by QHSE Department.

Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in Directional Drilling/MWD.
  • Thorough technical knowledge of DOWNHOLE tools.
  • Excellent communication in English (both written and oral), presentation, leadership/supervisory/team and organizational skills
  • Capable of multitasking and working effectively under pressure;
  • Understanding of computer application within the proposed job environment;
  • Ability to generate clear and concise reports in a timely and professional manner.
