Job summary

Electrical Industries Company is seeking a skilled testing, commissioning, and maintenance engineer to lead electrical testing activities on-site. You will work with protection relays, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and drives, ensuring conformance to procedures and standards.

The role requires coordinating resources, equipment, and personnel, plus providing customer training and technical support during commissioning. Strong focus on safety and documentation is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, including advanced protection relays, power transformers, HV/MV/LV switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), protection panels, capacitor banks, variable frequency drives (VFDs), adjustable frequency drives (AFDs), electric motors, and generator sets.
• Execute electrical testing in accordance with approved test procedures, project specifications, applicable international standards, and manufacturer recommendations.
• Receive work assignments from the supervisor and coordinate the required manpower, testing equipment, tools, and resources to ensure timely and efficient execution of site activities.
• Perform protection relay testing, configuration, parameter setting, and functional verification, including verification of protection schemes, interlocks, and trip circuits as applicable.
• Review and update testing procedures, commissioning documents, and test reports to reflect project requirements and site conditions.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation, protection relay configuration, testing procedures, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other project teams to ensure smooth execution of testing and commissioning activities.
• Monitor daily site activities, track work progress, and report achievements, technical issues, and outstanding activities to the supervisor.
• Supervise and coordinate site technicians and testing personnel, when required, to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and within the stipulated timeframe.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, project quality requirements, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations throughout all site activities.
• Prepare and maintain accurate testing records, commissioning reports, inspection checklists, and relevant technical documentation for project handover.
• Identify technical problems during testing and commissioning, perform troubleshooting, and coordinate corrective actions with the relevant technical teams.
• Follow company protocols for site reporting, resource coordination, customer communication, and escalation of technical or operational issues.
