  • Post Summary:
The Deputy Head Teacher is a leading professional in the school, accountable to the Head Teacher. The main responsibility if the Deputy Head Teacher is to assist in providing vision, leadership and direction for the school and helps to ensure that it is managed to meet its vision, mission and targets.

  • Ensure a clear articulation of the school vision and mission, and assure that they are shared, understood and effectively acted by all of the academic team and demonstrated in the everyday work practices.

    Maintain a strategic planning that aligns with the diversity of the school and surrounding community.

    Ensure that the school policies and procedures are updated, well-structured and revised when needed and demonstrate a consistent application of the policies.

    Implement and improve a culture of challenge and support between students and academic team, where all can achieve success and engage in the school teaching and learning process.

    Monitor, observe, evaluate and review classroom practices throughout the school and promote continuous improvement.

    Working with Others Through a visible presence on a day-to-day basis and at school events.

    Establish and maintain an effective partnership and cooperation with parents and carers to support and improve students’ achievement and personal development.

    Liaise with the Head Teacher to develop positive working relationships and sustain motivation, with and between all staff members.

    Liaise with the Head Teacher in ensuring effective planning, allocation, support and evaluation of work is undertaken by teams and individuals, ensuring clear delegation of tasks and devolution of responsibilities.
