Qualifications

Wood is recruiting for a Construction Superintendent to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables, supervising all areas on small projects and/or a subset discipline on larger projects, managing installation, commissioning and completion activities of materials and equipment, and monitoring work progress and reporting against the plan.

Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the phases of the project including technical detailed design scope and endeavor to bring out the best strategies and approaches to deliver the technical requirements.
  • Ensure Safety and Quality control procedures are followed during the execution of all work and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all design work.
  • Lead and participate in the pre and post contract award discussions with Asset Owners to assess and assist in the definition of user requirements.
  • Follow up project deliverables and participate in project reviews.
  • Solve Project execution challenges that are recognized during the development of the project.
  • Conduct or supervise site for accuracy of project progress.
  • Guide young engineers in related matters.
  • Other related works.

Experience Requirements
  • Degree with a minimum of 15 years Oil and Gas industry experience, including at least 5 years on major capital projects.
  • Construction Management and Site Management focus.
  • Experience within an Oil and Gas operating company is also highly desired and may be considered in lieu of capital project experience.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong command of the English language.
