Sous Chef

As a Sous Chef at our upscale restaurant in Khasab, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management. You will ensure that all food is prepared to the highest quality standards, maintaining consistency and creativity in each dish. Your exceptional culinary skills and strong leadership abilities will help to create a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring variety and innovation while taking into consideration dietary restrictions and customer preferences
  • Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all dishes to maintain consistency and high standards
  • Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and adherence to food safety regulations
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments such as purchasing and service to ensure smooth operations and excellent guest satisfaction
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
  • In-depth knowledge of various culinary techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English (additional languages are an asset)
  • Basic understanding of food cost control measures
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
