Job summary

The Auto Electrician role involves installing, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic systems across both passenger cars and heavy-duty trucks. You will diagnose faults, service climate control, and handle refrigerants to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.

Proven hands-on experience with automotive electrics, AC repairs, and reading wiring diagrams is required; certification in electronics adds value for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing electrical faults in cars and trucks.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and manuals.
• Knowledge of automotive air-conditioning systems and refrigerants.
• Certified technical training related to automotive electrics is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Multi-Voltage Diagnostics using scanners, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
• Wiring Harness repair and modification per diagrams.
• AC system diagnostics, leak detection, and refrigerant handling.
• Replace faulty AC compressors and climate control components.
• Troubleshoot ECUs and ADAS in small cars and trucks.
• Service heavy truck electrical controls and starting circuits.
• Maintain safety-critical automotive electrical systems.

The Auto Electrician is responsible for installing diagnosing maintaining and repairing all electronic electrical and computer-managed systems across a mixed fleet of passenger cars and heavy-duty trucks This includes comprehensive diagnostic mechanical and electrical servicing of automotive air-conditioning and climate control systems ensuring optimal vehicle performance safety and comfort b b b

Key Responsibilities

• b Multi-Voltage Diagnostics Use advanced multi-brand scanners oscilloscopes and multimeters to identify electrical faults in both 12V cars and 24V trucks systems
• b Wiring Harness Repair Read and interpret complex wiring diagrams to rebuild repair or splice damaged wiring looms and custom harnesses
• b AC System Diagnostics amp Leak Detection Pressure test AC systems using nitrogen electronic leak detectors or UV dyes to identify refrigerant leaks
• b Component Replacement Diagnose and replace faulty AC compressors magnetic clutches expansion valves receiver-driers and blower motors
• b Climate Control Electronics Troubleshoot climate control ECUs cabin temperature sensors sunload sensors and electronic blend-door actuator motors
• b Refrigerant Handling Safely evacuate recover flush and recharge AC systems using refrigerants such as R134a and R1234yf with automated recovery stations
• b Heavy Truck Specialties Service pneumatic and hydraulic electronic controls heavy-duty starting circuits dual-battery management systems and sleeper-cab auxiliary AC heating units
• b Small Car amp Safety Technology Maintain ECUs ABS airbag SRS systems and advanced driver-assistance systems ADAS including cameras and sensors

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an Auto Electrician.Proven experience working on both passenger vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and technical manuals.Experience in automotive air-conditioning repair and refrigerant handling.Relevant technical certification will be an added advantage.
