Job summary

Queen Elizabeth College in Manawatu/Whanganui seeks a Year 7 and 8 Intermediate Teacher to join our Year 7 and 8 team. The role is full-time and permanent, teaching across Year 7–15 and wharekura as certificated teacher.

The successful applicant will be NZ-certified, collaborate within a supportive team, and foster a positive, well-structured classroom that supports ākonga. Term 1 2027 start; a management unit may be available.

Qualifications

• Experience with intermediate years and literacy/maths
• Ability to build positive relationships with ākonga and whānau

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, well-structured classroom where ākonga are supported and engaged in learning.
• Deliver curriculum across English, health and physical education, maths, science, social sciences, technology, te reo Māori and the arts.

Queen Elizabeth College is seeking an enthusiastic and committed New Zealand-certified teacher to join our Year 7 and 8 Intermediate team.

The successful applicant will be part of a collaborative and supportive team committed to improving ākonga achievement. We are looking for someone who can create a positive, well-structured classroom where ākonga are supported and engaged in their learning.

They will have strong knowledge of the curriculum in structured literacy and mathematics, use effective assessment practices, build positive relationships with ākonga and whānau, and be keen to contribute to the wider life of the school.

A management unit may be available to interested applicants, but it is not a requirement of the position.

The position commences Term 1 2027.
