Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Middle leadership

We seek a leader with a growth mindset and student-centred focus, with experience and/or strengths in pastoral care to apply for a permanent classroom teaching role with fixed term whare pastoral leader – Junior School responsibilities. The whare pastoral leader role will run for a three-year fixed term, is renewable and comes with 2MU and 1MMA allowances.

The successful applicant will be an innovative leader, excited to deliver a future-focused and integrated education that provides equitable learning outcomes. You will be pedagogically progressive, form effective professional relationships and be keen to contribute to the all-round education of our students.

As whare pastoral leader, you will support our Y7–10 students with their social and emotional needs through pastoral care, curriculum implementation and an integrated social and emotional curriculum.

The successful applicant will provide professional leadership to staff and be committed to developing strong connections with students and whānau.

Teaching staff appointed to Te Paepae o Aotea are entitled to the High Priority Teacher Supply Allowance. This means appointees relocating to Hawera are entitled to apply for relocation costs.
