Job summary

Vitruvius, a New Zealand-owned engineering consultancy, is seeking a Business Leader for its Wellington office. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be the senior representative in Wellington, balancing leadership with active delivery on projects and client engagement.

You will develop three direct reports, own the office's commercial performance and growth, and contribute to the wider strategy with the Senior Leadership Team, while maintaining regular office presence to lead by example.

Qualifications

• Fifteen years' experience in engineering consultancy.
• Proven leadership and coaching experience.
• Water discipline preferred; other disciplines acceptable with demonstrated breadth.
• Commercial accountability including budgeting, pricing and forecasting.
• Established Wellington network or ability to build one through current client relationships.
• Willingness for regular office presence in Wellington.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Wellington office as its senior representative, establishing expectations, standards and culture.
• Develop and support three direct reports and build capability across the wider team.
• Own Wellington's commercial performance, business plan and growth trajectory.
• Maintain active technical delivery and client-facing project involvement alongside leadership responsibilities.
• Grow the water practice in the Wellington market.
• Develop client relationships to generate further work within existing projects.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the wider business as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
