Job summary

Citycare Water in Dunedin is seeking a dedicated leader for crew management in potable water maintenance. You will guide and mentor field teams to ensure quality, safety, and productivity on-site. Strong planning skills and a proactive health & safety approach are essential, along with a full Class 1 driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Potable Water Network Maintenance or similar.
  • Experience leading or mentoring small teams, with the ability to influence team members on site.
  • A proactive approach to Health & Safety, ensuring risk assessments and safety protocols are strictly followed.
  • Strong site-planning skills required to track stock and log job data.
  • A full Class 1 driver’s license; Class 2 license is highly desirable.

About the Job

Crew Leadership: Managing, mentoring, and coaching field teams daily to maximise quality, safety, and productivity

Operational Excellence: Planning site works effectively so crews land on-site with the right gear, minimizing reworks and downtime.

Asset & Compliance: Delivering works that meet potable water and DCC compliance standards.

Plant & Inventory: Ensuring site machinery is serviced, safe, and respected. Overseeing depot stocktakes and material booking.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Proven experience in Potable Water Network Maintenance or similar.
  • Experience leading or mentoring small teams, with the ability to influence team members on site.
  • A proactive approach to Health & Safety, ensuring risk assessments and safety protocols are strictly followed.
  • Strong site-planning skills and digital literacy required to track stock and log job data.
  • A full Class 1 driver’s license. Class 2 license is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call escalation roster designed to support field crews during network outside normal hours.

All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, Ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
