Job summary

Citycare Water in Auckland is seeking a Water Serviceperson to join our team to repair and maintain water reticulation networks on a reactive and scheduled basis. You will repair leaking mains, service pipes and hydrants, meters, and service valves.

A full class 1 license is required and you should be able to work both in a team and independently, with readiness for pre-employment checks including criminal conviction report, medical assessment and drug testing.

Qualifications

• 6+ months relevant work experience as a trainee or water labourer.
• Licensed and skilled at operating most plant and equipment.
• Must be physically fit, health and safety focused, and able to work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Repairing leaking water mains.
• Repairing and installing service pipes and leaking hydrants.
• Repairing meter connections or replacing meters when required.
• Servicing all valves and hydrants.

About the job:

We’re looking for a Water Serviceperson to join our team of everyday heroes in Auckland!

In this role you will assist with the repair and maintenance of water reticulation networks, on a reactive and scheduled basis, to contract specifications. This may include:

• Repairing leaking water mains


• Repairing and installing service pipes and leaking hydrants


• Repairing meter connections or replacing meters when required


• Servicing all valves and hydrants.

What you’ll need:

• We are looking for someone with more than 6 months relevant work experience as a trainee or water labourer.


• You will be licensed and skilled at operating most plant and equipment.


• You will need to be physically fit, health and safety focused, and work well in a team as well as independently.


• A full class 1 license is required.

We are looking for someone who might be starting or part-way through their water industry qualifications, or if not you will be willing to start on this pathway with us.

All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, Ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
