Job summary

Watercare invites applications for an Operations Engineer in Wastewater Transmission. The role focuses on the performance of major wastewater assets, combining technical problem-solving with project support and stakeholder collaboration to deliver community and environmental benefits.

You will assess asset conditions, support infrastructure projects and work with internal and external teams to implement effective operational solutions.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary level qualification in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in water or wastewater networks, planning, operations and maintenance.
• Excellent communication and customer management skills.
• Current full NZ Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertake condition assessment of operational assets.
• Project support for infrastructure projects and renewals.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver operational solutions.
• Find solutions to operational problems and coordinate planning and repairs.
• Manage operational projects and liaise with consultants and contractors.
• Manage environmental compliance to support community outcomes.
• Be available for after-hours, on-call duties and rostered work if needed.
