Job summary

Massey University – Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa in Palmerston North is seeking two permanent full-time veterinary nurses to join the Community Practice team. Rotate through consults, radiography, dentals, desexings, and nurse-led consultations in a busy Companion Animal Hospital.

Registered staff will cover Monday–Friday with some potential Saturday hours. The role includes afterhours on-call ~1 in 12 weeks and a salary range of Grade 4 ($51,554 - $75,351).

Qualifications

• Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of general practice experience.
• Experience with general anaesthesia and surgical nursing.
• Eligibility to work in NZ.
• Able to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with consults, radiographs, dentals and desexings.
• Support nurse-led consultations and education of students.
• Participate in afterhours on-call roster, including public holidays and weekends (approx. 1 in 12 weeks).
• Collaborate with other departments within the hospital.
