Job summary

PB48 Limited is seeking two experienced full-time Class 5 truck drivers for a floating role across New Zealand, based primarily in Hamilton with shifts starting there.

You will load and unload cargo, conduct safety checks, verify documents, plan efficient routes, and maintain vehicle cleanliness. A clean NZ Class 5 license, at least two years’ experience, flexibility, and the ability to work autonomously or with others are essential. Visa sponsorship is available.

Responsibilities

• Manoeuvre vehicles into loading/unloading positions.

• Plan routes, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and report maintenance issues.

Job description

PB48 Limited is currently seeking an 2 x experienced full time Class 5 truck driver to join our team. This position is a floating role operating across New Zealand and requires a high level of flexibility. The role will be primarily based in Hamilton, with all shifts commencing from there.

• Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading
• loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices
• observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles
• making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can drive safely
• estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight
• ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage
• verifying loading documents, checking condition of goods and obtaining certification of deliveries
• manually moving goods from collection point into truck and then unloading furniture from truck to destination point ensuring

Adhering to all road codes and traffic guidelines. Operating the truck in a safe and responsible manner. Navigating using maps and selecting the most efficient routes. Ensuring the safety and security of the load. Complying with all health and safety regulations. Reporting any incidents that occur. Conducting regular vehicle checks and reporting any maintenance issues. The role includes the responsibility for the loading and unloading of the truck, ensuring all cargo is handled with care and in compliance with safety standards. Maintenance of the vehicle's cleanliness is a key aspect of the role, with a requirement to wash the truck on a weekly basis. The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, under supervision or independently, is essential for this position.

• Possession of a clean Class 5 New Zealand driver's license or an equivalent overseas license.
• A minimum of two years of demonstrable experience in a relevant field is required.
• Availability to work flexible hours is essential.
• This position is primarily a floating role across New Zealand, with typical workdays running from Monday to Saturday, including some weekends and overnight stays as required.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Demonstrated physical fitness.
