Job description

This is a rare opportunity for a proven transport leader to take ownership of a national driver workforce and a diverse fleet, ensuring all transport activity is safe, compliant, efficient, and aligned with Glide’s high-performance standards.

What you will do
  • Lead and support a fleet of approximately 12 drivers, ensuring they are fully licensed, trained, competent and aligned with Glide’s values and regulatory requirements related to hydrocarbon haulage.
  • Apply consistent performance management to drive accountability, engagement and continuous improvement
  • Monitor workforce capacity, forecast resourcing needs and plan proactively to maintain a healthy, high-performing team.
  • Build recruitment pipelines and maintain strong relationships to secure quality, values-aligned transport talent
  • Manage driver fatigue risks through effective shift planning, scheduling reviews and logbook compliance
  • Lead risk assessments and site-specific safety processes, ensuring appropriate inductions, job pricing and methodology development, and hazard management for all transport activities.
  • Manage incident response and investigation processes, including product spills and vehicle incidents, liaising with authorities and leading corrective actions.
  • Maintain fleet compliance – ensuring vehicle standards, maintenance schedules and certifications are up to date
  • Oversee fleet performance, breakdown response, maintenance coordination and supplier relationships
  • Manage the fleet replacement programme, including forward planning and capital requests
  • Monitor and report fleet data, running costs, incidents and trends to drive continuous improvement
  • Use Wastedge, Mango and related systems to strengthen data, visibility, decision-making and operational efficiency
What we are looking for
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in transport, logistics, or fleet leadership
  • Strong experience managing drivers in compliance-driven environments
  • Solid understanding of fatigue, H&S and transport legislation
  • Proven background in fleet maintenance planning, contractor management and vehicle replacement programmes
  • Experience with operational systems (e.g., Wastedge, Mango or similar)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills – able to coach, motivate and influence
  • Calm, decisive, solutions-focused operator with strong planning and organisational capability
  • HT licence preferred; relevant qualifications in Transport, Operations or H&S advantageous
