Job summary

Tonkin + Taylor is seeking an Intermediate Transport Engineer with 3+ years' experience to join our Wellington team. Contribute to transport design for diverse NZ projects and learn across sectors including urban redevelopment and water resources.

You will work under guidance of senior engineers, apply AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GIS, and develop safe, sustainable transport solutions while advancing your professional growth within a supportive, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• BE (Civil) degree or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ industry experience in transportation engineering and design.
• Good working knowledge of transport engineering standards.
• NZTA Safe Systems audit experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical transport designs for small- to large-scale projects on time, within budget and to high quality, coordinating others as needed.
• Prepare transport designs, reports, specifications and schedules under guidance of senior engineers.
• Develop and implement road safety initiatives, including safe system design and audits.
• Develop and maintain a professional profile with key clients and the transportation community.
