Job summary

ETEL, New Zealand's leading transformer manufacturer, is seeking a Transformer Quality Inspector at our West Auckland site. This hands-on role ensures quality at every production stage, from incoming materials to final testing.

You will carry out inspections, verify documentation and traceability, and work with Production, Engineering and Procurement to resolve issues. A practical eye for detail and experience with technical drawings are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection, testing or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of fabrication, assembly or industrial manufacturing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving.
• Experience interpreting technical documentation, specifications or engineering drawings.
• Confidence raising quality concerns and driving corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
• Experience with transformer manufacturing or ISO 9001 or related standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out incoming inspections of purchased materials and components.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of transformers.
• Verify quality documentation, test results and traceability records.
• Identify, investigate and report non-conformances.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Procurement and Operational Excellence to resolve quality issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and strengthen processes.
• Assist in maintaining robust, audit-ready quality systems.
