Job summary

Talent Propeller Limited, based in Invercargill, is seeking a BCITO Training Advisor to mentor carpentry apprentices and coordinate assessments. You will work from our Invercargill office, support employers to identify skill needs, and promote apprenticeships across the Southland region.

We value a hands-on carpenter who can build rapport, communicate clearly, and manage time remotely when required. A full NZ driver’s license is required; education/training experience is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Recent hands-on carpentry experience with up-to-date building industry knowledge.
• A people person who builds great rapport with others.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring/coaching individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent time management and ability to work remotely and independently.
• Comfortable with digital tools and eager to learn new technologies.
• Hold a current, full NZ car driver’s license.
• Bonus: experience in education and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentoring support to apprentices across carpentry trades.
• Conduct assessments onsite and via BCITO’s online platform.
• Collaborate with employers to identify skill needs and promote apprenticeships.

As a BCITO Training Advisor, you'll play a crucial role throughout the Southland region, primarily supporting apprentices in carpentry. Your responsibilities will include providing mentoring support, conducting assessments (both onsite and via our online platform), and collaborating with employers to identify skill needs and promote apprenticeships. You'll be based from our Invercargill office.
