Job summary

Vista Group in Auckland seeks an experienced Automation Test Engineer to join an agile team focused on modern frontend, backend and cloud environments. The role requires strong manual and automation experience, with knowledge of C# and SpecFlow being highly beneficial.

You will help shape our System Test strategy, work with a dynamic team, and ensure test frameworks are scalable, reusable, and aligned with our CI/CD approach across Vista's software suite.

Qualifications

• Strong manual and automation testing experience across frontend, backend and cloud environments.
• Proven development experience with C# and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience delivering automated test solutions within CI/CD environments.
• Familiarity with SpecFlow, JMeter, Selenium and Postman across modern stacks.
• Ability to design scalable, maintainable test frameworks.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer who is detail-oriented and puts quality in the forefront.

Working in an agile team across various parts of the extensive Vista product set, you'll focus on modern frontend, backend and cloud environments.

This role sits within our Digital product stream and requires strong manual and automation experience, and knowledge of C# and Specflow would be highly beneficial.

About the role

• Ensure that testing deliverables are effective and measurable, for efficiency and accuracy
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of our System Test strategy
• Work closely with, and help guide, a dynamic and very collaborative team
• Test backend and front-end applications
• Ensure System Test Frameworks are fit for purpose, efficient, scalable, and maintainable and applicable to the CI/CD strategy
• Ensure automation code is treated as production code and meets re-usability and standardisation requirements
• Set up performance testing scenarios and run to simulate loads for concurrent users

We have a lot of sophisticated software and need clever, fast-thinking problem solvers who enjoy making sense of complexity and achieving results in good time.

• Good understanding of black box testing, white box testing, and test automation
• Proven development experience with programming languages and concepts (C#, PowerShell script)
• Proven experience delivering complex automated test solutions to budget, time, and quality requirements
• Experience working in a CI/CD environment across multiple environments
• Familiarity with networks, performance, and secure software coding practices
• Practical, and current, experience with a range of open source and commercial test automation technologies (e.g. SpecFlow, JMeter, Selenium, Postman) across modern front-end, back-end, and Cloud environments
