Palmerston North Goodwin Group in Palmerston North is looking for two Warehouse assistants to join our busy operation. You will handle picking, packing, despatching orders and work in chillers and frozen environments, while organising inventory and ensuring stock checks are accurate.

We value physical fitness, reliability, safety awareness and the ability to work rostered shifts including evenings and weekends. Prior warehousing experience is welcome but not essential.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit to lift heavy weights.
• Willing to adapt and learn; able to use technology.
• Free from drug and criminal history.
• Able to provide sound references.
• Health & Safety conscious.
• Able to work rostered shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Previous warehousing experience preferable but not necessary.
• Class one NZ or overseas equivalent license.

Job Description

We are looking for two Warehouse assistants to join our busy operation at thePalmerston North branch.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Picking, packing, and despatching orders
• Working in the chillers and frozen food environment
• Filling and labelling containers.
• Organising inventory to assigned locations
• Conducting and accurately completing inventory stock checks
• General other warehousing duties and work where and when as required in the warehouse
• Receiving incoming goods, checking for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices
• Unloading vehicles, opening packages and removing contents
• Operating computers to obtain details of location and quantity of items in stock
• Operating equipment to lift, place and remove goods on high levels

Skills and experience for the role:

• Physical fitness: able to lift heavy weights
• Adaptive and learner nature. Able to use technology
• Free from drug and criminal history
• Able to provide sound references
• Health & Safety conscious
• Ability to work rostered shifts, including the evening and weekend shifts
