Job summary

Nelson Marlborough Health in Nelson, NZ, is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our inpatient mental health team on a temporary basis. The role involves providing inpatient care from acute to rehabilitation within a multidisciplinary environment.

The 6-month fixed term position is 0.8FTE with rostered shifts Sunday to Monday. We support ongoing professional development and a constructive, safe workload for our dedicated team.

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Nurse licensed to practice in New Zealand.
• Ability to work autonomously in a busy inpatient setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary teams.
• Cultural awareness and commitment to reducing barriers for Māori clients.
• Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or willingness to start learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient mental health care from acute to rehabilitation.
• Work within a multidisciplinary inpatient team.
• Rostered shifts, including Sundays and Mondays.
• Support a positive, safe workload and professional development.
• Contribute to a high standard of care in Mental Health Inpatient services.
