A large, complex Auckland organisation is building out its Platform Engineering practice, and is looking for an experienced Technical Lead to drive the evolution of its enterprise integration capability.
This is hands‑on technical leadership, not people management. You'll own the integration platform technically, setting the standards, writing the patterns, and lifting the engineering bar across the team. If you like solving genuinely complex enterprise problems and influencing direction, this may be for you.
Working inside the Platform Engineering practice, you'll partner closely with architects, product teams and delivery squads to establish best practice, uplift engineering capability, and keep the integration platforms reliable, secure and fit for the future.
The environment is broad and still maturing. There's real scope to shape how integration is done here rather than inherit someone else's finished playbook.
Alongside that, you'll mentor engineers across the practice and work with architecture, delivery and product to keep engineering solutions tied to business outcomes.
We're particularly interested in people with a software engineering or SRE background underneath the integration work, i.e. engineers who understand the APIs, protocols and messaging mechanisms, not just the tooling that wraps them.
If you have most of this but not all of it, we'd still like to hear from you.
Applicants must be Auckland-based with existing New Zealand work rights, and available onsite two fixed days a week.
