Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking a Technical Director – Planning to lead onshore wind farm planning in New Zealand, focusing on RMA project management and consent acquisition. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, grow client engagements, and deliver strategic and technical planning guidance across locations in New Zealand.

With 20+ years in planning and energy sectors, you will drive high-quality outcomes, mentor staff, and strengthen client relationships while shaping SLR’s renewables practice in

Qualifications

• 20+ years' experience in planning and resource management.
• Proven track record of winning work and delivering onshore wind energy projects.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholder engagement (including mana whenua).
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to grow client base.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate RMA-project management for onshore wind farm opportunities.
• Lead client engagements and manage project lifecycles.
• Promote collaboration across SLR disciplines in renewable energy projects.
• Manage resources and grow technical skills across NZ wind farm delivery.
• Provide high-quality strategic and technical planning advice grounded in sector experience.
