Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' experience in technical consulting, business analysis or application support with Microsoft Power Platform
  • Solid understanding of how Power Platform improves business processes and automates workflows
  • Experience designing, configuring, implementing and supporting Power Platform solutions
  • Experience with core components: PowerApps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse; Copilot Studio proficiency
  • Experience integrating applications and systems and troubleshooting complex issues
  • Ability to elicit and translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Experience in Agile, Waterfall or similar methodologies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience in health sector and knowledge of NZ health system

Technical Application Consultant (Microsoft Power Platform)

About the role

As a Technical Application Consultant, you'll join our Digital Applications & Products team in a role specifically focused on the Microsoft Power Platform. You'll play an important part in implementing, integrating, supporting and optimising Power Platform solutions that enable our people to work more effectively and support the delivery of healthcare across New Zealand.

Working closely with the Microsoft Power Platform Lead and software consultants within our Regulatory, Corporate & Sector Services area, you'll provide technical expertise across the configuration, customisation, integration and troubleshooting of Power Platform applications and solutions.

You'll work with clinical, operational, business and technology stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into scalable, effective solutions. You'll also contribute to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance existing Power Platform solutions, improve performance and increase efficiency.

You'll provide:

  • Technical expertise across the design, configuration, implementation and support of Microsoft Power Platform solutions
  • Application integration and customisation to meet operational and business requirements
  • Technical analysis and troubleshooting across Power Platform solutions and integrations
  • Support for requirements gathering solution design and implementation
  • Advice and guidance to stakeholders on technical options and solutions
  • Collaboration with software development, DevOps, delivery and product teams to deliver effective digital solutions
  • Identification and delivery of opportunities to improve the performance, usability and efficiency of Power Platform applications

About the team

The Digital Applications & Products team is part of Health NZ's Digital Services group and is responsible for delivering and supporting digital applications and products that enable our people and services to operate effectively.

You'll work within the Regulatory, Corporate & Sector Services area alongside technical consultants, software specialists and other digital professionals, with a specific focus on Microsoft Power Platform.

The team works closely with clinical and operational stakeholders, delivery teams, vendors and technology partners to ensure our digital solutions are reliable, integrated and aligned with the needs of Health NZ.

About you

You're a technically capable and solutions-focused professional with experience working with Microsoft Power Platform. You enjoy understanding business problems, designing practical technology solutions and working with stakeholders to deliver outcomes.

You'll also bring:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a technical consulting, business analysis or application support role, with relevant Microsoft Power Platform experience
  • A good understanding of how the Microsoft Power Platform can be used to improve business processes, automate workflows and deliver better digital experiences will be important for success in this role.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, configuring, implementing and supporting Microsoft Power Platform solutions
  • Experience working with the core components; PowerApps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse and Copilot Studio Proficiency in configuring Dataverse security models, external portals using power pages and environment governance guardrails. Develop and extend solutions using plugins, custom APIs, typescript and azure services.
  • Experience integrating applications and systems and troubleshooting complex technical issues
  • Proven ability to elicit and analyse requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
  • Experience working within Agile, Waterfall or similar project delivery methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose issues and develop practical solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
  • A proactive, customer-focused and solutions-oriented approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience working within the health sector, along with knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, health information privacy requirements and the New Zealand health system
