Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Team Administrator for the Oncology Outpatients Department based at Auckland City Hospital. You will provide essential administrative and reception support to ensure smooth operations and high-quality patient care in a large oncology service.

Reporting to the Oncology Charge Nurse, you will manage clinic appointments, welcome patients and visitors, and assist with clerical processes across the department.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years experience in an administrative or customer service role.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting (preferred).
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team and maintain a proactive attitude.
  • Commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori.

Responsibilities

  • Full-time position (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday during standard business hours
  • Provide administrative and reception support for the Medical Oncology Day Stay Unit
  • Based at Auckland City Hospital

About the Role

The Regional Cancer and Blood Service at Te Toka Tumai is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Team Administrator to join our friendly, supportive, and fast-paced Oncology Outpatients Department one of the largest oncology services in New Zealand.

This role plays an important part in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care to patients and their whānau. Reporting to the Oncology Charge Nurse, you will provide essential administrative and reception support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a wide range of administrative and reception duties for the department
  • Welcoming patients and visitors while coordinating clinic appointments
  • Supporting senior clinical management teams with clerical processes and daily operations
  • Assisting with the effective coordination of outpatient services in a busy healthcare environment
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • At least 2 years experience in an administrative or customer service role
