Job summary

Silver Fern Farms is seeking motivated workers for meat processing in Auckland, NZ. Roles include Butchers, Slaughterers Assistants, Trimmers, Boners, Freezer Hands, and General Labourers. Training is provided, with work clothes and safety equipment supplied, and flexible options including job sharing.

Typical hours are around 40 per week during peak seasons, with overtime and a minimum rate of $28.82/hr plus extras. Applicants must be 18+, able to work in NZ, and pass pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• No experience? No problem, we provide all the training you need.
• You're an active team member who attends work daily, can work closely with others, and brings a positive, hardworking attitude.
• Able to understand and follow health and safety, quality and technical compliance requirements.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand
• Must be 18 years or older to meet audit requirements
• Able to pass pre-employment medical checks, criminal convictions check and physical fitness requirements.

Responsibilities

• Complete on-the-job training and earn a minimum of $28.82/hr plus extras.
• Usually, 40 hours per week during peak production season, plus overtime opportunities.
• Minimum $43/hr production overtime rate.

We are looking for motivated people who simply want to give meat processing a go and we can guarantee you it’s not like you think it might be! You might be experienced already (brilliant!) or have no experience at all which is all good as we provide all the training plus your work clothes and your safety equipment.

Our processing departments are where carcasses are processed into finer cuts and packed to be sent to over one hundred countries worldwide who love to devour our 100% grass-fed red meat.
