Job summary

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in Wellington seeks a Team Leader Capability Development to lead a small team responsible for learning design and capability across the Emergency Management sector. You will guide strategy and hands-on delivery, shaping capability for New Zealand communities.

In this role you will partner with senior leaders, influence the programme direction, and deliver measurable learning outcomes while aligning with NEMA’s future-focused approach to capability

Qualifications

• Experience leading a capability development or learning design team.
• Ability to connect strategy with practical learning solutions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Senior Advisors focused on learning design and development.
• Partner with senior leaders across NEMA to gain feedback and support for the team’s direction.
• Provide expert advice and thought leadership on workforce capability development.
• Support sector transformation by delivering fit-for-purpose learning interventions.
• Lead the design and delivery of learning that builds capability.
• Build trusted relationships and influence outcomes through credibility and stakeholder partnerships.
