Job summary

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora invites applications for a Team Leader to oversee the Healthy Homes Initiative across MidCentral rohe. You will lead kaiāwhina and work directly with whānau, guiding service delivery and outcomes.

You'll build trusted relationships, manage contracts and budgets, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive improvements in housing-related health for tamariki and whānau.

About the Role

The Healthy Homes Initiative aims to increase the number of tamariki and their whānau/aiga living in warm, dry and healthy homes, ultimately improving their health and wellbeing and reducing housing-related hospitalisations.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development and oversight of a programme that has the potential to make a significant difference to the health and wellbeing of tamariki and whānau across our rohe.

As Team Leader, you will provide leadership and support to the team delivering the Healthy Homes Initiative, including kaiāwhina working directly with whānau in their homes. You will provide oversight, guidance and support where needed, while helping to ensure the programme continues to develop and deliver positive outcomes for the communities we serve.

We are looking for an experienced and approachable leader who is passionate about improving health and wellbeing and confident in building trusted relationships with whānau. Experience working directly with people and whānau in their homes or communities would be highly valued—for example, experience as a Social Worker or in another relevant health or community-based role.

The service also holds contracts with external providers, so you will need strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage relationships, contribute to regular reporting requirements and oversee budget responsibilities.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

• Leadership experience or the demonstrated ability to lead, support and develop others.
• Experience working alongside whānau and building trusted, respectful relationships.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience managing contracts, reporting requirements and/or budgets.
• A commitment to improving health and wellbeing outcomes for tamariki, whānau and communities.
• The ability to work across both urban and rural areas of the MidCentral rohe.

This is a 0.8 FTE position, with responsibilities across the urban and rural areas of the MidCentral rohe.
