Job summary

Herekino School in the Far North invites applications for an experienced teaching Principal. The role combines teaching with strong school-wide leadership, guiding a small rural kura for years 1–8 and fostering a settled, inclusive learning environment.

We seek a registered New Zealand teacher with a current practising certificate, leadership experience, and a collaborative approach with staff, whānau, iwi and wider community. A schoolhouse is available if required.

Qualifications

• Registered New Zealand teacher with a current practising certificate.
• A highly regarded teacher with leadership experience.
• Experience in a senior leadership role.
• Sound knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and effective assessment practices.

Responsibilities

• Teach for part of the week while providing leadership across the school.
• Lead and support a small rural school for Years 1–8 and foster student wellbeing.
