Job summary

King’s College is seeking an engaging history teacher to join our supportive History Department. The successful applicant will teach History at secondary level in NCEA and CIE, as well as Social Studies, within a co-educational, Anglican, boarding and day school setting.

We value an applicant with a tertiary history or social studies qualification, teaching registration, and a collaborative, adaptable approach.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in history or social studies with a teaching qualification.
• Current teaching registration.
• Ability to teach History across NCEA and CIE.
• Commitment to pastoral care and wider school community.
• Willingness to contribute to co-curricular activities and the House system.

Responsibilities

• Teach History at secondary level in both NCEA and CIE, and Social Studies as required.
• Contribute to the life of the College through House involvement and community engagement.
• Support boarding and residential life if interested, including pastoral care aspects.

King’s College is seeking an engaging history teacher to join our supportive and collaborative History Department. The successful applicant will be able to teach History at secondary level in both NCEA and CIE, as well as Social Studies.

King’s College is an independent Anglican co-educational boarding and day school for Years 9–13 (girls from Year 11), committed to academic excellence, student wellbeing and developing students of outstanding character.

We are looking for someone who:

• holds a tertiary qualification in history and/or social studies, together with a teaching qualification and current registration.
• can teach History across NCEA and CIE; experience with both is preferred.
• is passionate about their subject and committed to engaging and inspiring students.
• brings a collaborative, positive and adaptable approach to teaching.
• is committed to the College’s pastoral care and wider school community.
• s willing to contribute to co-curricular activities and the College’s House system.

All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the life of the College through House involvement, building strong relationships with students and fostering a sense of community and belonging.
