Mō te tūranga | About the Role

You will be supporting Emma and Allie at Twilight, located in Somerfield, for three shifts per week, and Jessie at Bolton Service in Spreydon for one shift per week.

Emma and Allie have been flatting together for the past 16 months, having recently moved out of their family homes for the first time. They’re enjoying their independence and continue to adapt to flatting life. Both are sociable and love attending fun events in the community.

  • Emma is very organised, motivated and quite competent with cooking and household tasks. She has a busy weekly schedule with activities including Skillwise and Inclusive Performance Academy. Music and drama are her passion.
  • Allie needs support to become more motivated to do the tasks she needs to as well as creating more of a purposeful routine. She volunteers at an op shop two half days per week and attends Inclusive Performance Academy one morning a week.
  • Jessie lives alone and is a quite capable, needing support for just 4 hours per week to plan her weekly menu, buy groceries and do some cooking. Jessie has her parents nearby for additional support and she keeps busy with lots of regular activities. She loves to knit and ski.

This position involves supporting with:

  • Planning a healthy, balanced weekly menu
  • Grocery shopping and cooking
  • Maintaining a clean and healthy living environment
  • Navigating flatting dynamics
  • Engaging with the community
  • Working towards personal goals

You’ll be energetic, empathetic, and confident working alongside this person to help create a life filled with rich and diverse experiences. You’ll need to be able to read situations, problem-solve, and know when to apply boundaries or offer space.

Daily tasks include supporting routines while encouraging independence, skill development, and personal growth. You’ll also be confident in assisting with personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. A passion for helping people access and participate in their wider community is essential.

This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.50 and $29.10 per hour.

  • Monday 4pm to8pm
  • Tuesday 12pm to8pm
  • Saturday 10am to3pm

Total Hours per fortnight: 34 hours
