Bathurst Resources is New Zealand’s largest coal‑specialist mining company. We produce over 2.2 million tonnes of coal each year and proudly employ over 550 people. About 80 percent of our production is used for steel making of which one third is used by local Kiwi steel producers. The Rotowaro coalfield and opencast mine is the second largest opencast coal mine in New Zealand and is located 10km west of Huntly. We are also only 40km from Raglan and 40km from Hamilton – the city life or the beach life are both accessible from our mine.

About you:

Reporting to the Mine Operations Superintendent, the operations supervisor is supported by a Leading Hand/2IC. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the day‑to‑day activities of the mining operations and/or rehabilitation operations, with a commitment to comply with Health, Safety and Environment standards.

• Leading daily shift‑wide operation meetings
• Responsible for the day‑to‑day on‑site Health and Safety
• Managing operators and allocating tasks
• Ensuring that targets are met and quality is maintained.
• Providing training and ensuring operators consistently meet standard operating standards

Skills and Requirements:

• A or B grade coal Manager Certificate of Competency
