In our summer internships, we aim to provide opportunities that meet the following standards:
Meaningful: you will do real work that makes a difference to Watercare and Auckland
Supportive: you will have support from many different parts of the organisation, including your manager, a buddy, and the People & Capability team
Developmental: throughout your internship with us you will have opportunities to learn from practical experience, together with some planned learning and development

Our 12-week programme will run from the 16th of November 2026, with a two-week business closure period in between Christmas and new years (dates to be confirmed).
While our head office is centrally located in Newmarket, a number of these roles are based at locations within the wider Auckland region. Public transport options to some of these sites are limited (such as our Treatment plants), so in order to be successful in your application for one of the plant-based roles you will need your own transport with a full or restricted driver's licence.
