Job summary

Three Dukes Home Limited is seeking an Internal Auditor to strengthen financial controls across accounting and construction operations in the Bay of Plenty region. You will audit financial transactions, project costs, procurement, and labour allocations, ensuring proper approvals and documentation.

The role requires reviewing budgets, cost variations, and project profitability, and reporting findings with practical recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or related field.
• Experience in internal auditing, accounting, financial control, project accounting, or construction cost control.
• Understanding of construction contracts, subcontractor claims, progress payments, and variations.
• Strong analytical, report-writing, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits of financial transactions, construction project costs, procurement activities, supplier accounts, subcontractor payments, and operational processes.
• Review project budgets, actual expenditure, cash flow, cost variations, and project profitability.
• Examine supplier invoices, purchase orders, delivery records, subcontractor claims, payment records, contracts, and supporting documents.
• Verify labour costs, timesheets, payroll records, and allocation of labour to projects.
• Review materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs for proper recording and allocation.
• Assess internal controls and identify financial, operational, procurement, and compliance risks.
• Prepare internal audit reports with findings, risks, and corrective actions; present to management.
