Job summary

PTL Structural & Fire in Christchurch is seeking a full-time fire engineer to join our dynamic team of structural and fire engineers. The role can be based at our head office in Christchurch or at our Auckland or Queenstown satellite offices depending on candidate suitability.

You will work on cutting-edge mass timber fire safety design and contribute to the growth of PTL’s fire engineering consultancy, with opportunities to collaborate with universities and research institutes and participate

Qualifications

• Internationally recognised tertiary degree in fire engineering (e.g., Masters of Fire Engineering).
• NZ-based consulting experience in fire engineering, 1–3 years preferred.
• Experience in structural engineering or structural fire engineering preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills to foster peer/client relationships.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently to deliver high-quality projects.

PTL Structural & Fire are looking for a fire engineer to join our dynamic team of structural engineers and fire engineers. The role can be in our head office in Christchurch, or our Auckland or Queenstown satellite offices depending on candidate’s suitability.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be PTL’s full-time fire engineer, enhancing PTL fire engineering consultancy business and contributing towards cutting-edge, sustainable building fire safety design involving mass timber.

The successful candidate will:

• Have an internationally recognised tertiary degree in fire engineering e.g. Masters of Fire Engineering
• Have NZ based consulting experience in fire engineering, preferably 1-3 years
• Have preferably some experiences in structural engineering or structural fire engineering
• Have excellent interpersonal skills, to foster peers/clients relationships
• Be able to learn quickly and work independently to deliver high-quality project outcomes
