Job summary

The New Zealand Government seeks a Lead Advisor ICT to join the Procurement team within the Ministry of Education. You will lead end-to-end procurement activities, advise on policy and procedures, and manage high-value contracts with senior stakeholders.

You will mentor colleagues, lift procurement capability, influence sector-wide strategies, and use data to identify market trends while ensuring compliance with Government Procurement Rules.

Qualifications

• Experience leading end-to-end procurement activities in a complex organisation.
• Strong influencing and negotiations skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Government procurement rules and governance.
• Ability to mentor and lift procurement capability across teams.
• Analytical capability and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Promote procurement best practice and provide policy advice covering supplier selection, tendering and end-to-end lifecycle.
• Lead high-value, complex procurements including planning, documentation, evaluation, negotiations and awarding.
• Mentor team members and build procurement capability across the organisation.
• Engage with stakeholders to define needs, options and preferred suppliers.
