Job summary

Maritime NZ is seeking a principal advisory leader to provide strategic direction across New Zealand's search and rescue aviation environment. You will work with diverse government agencies, aviation operators and emergency response organisations to identify opportunities, drive long-term planning and support investment in future capability.

The role requires experience in aviation operations and programme delivery, with a proven ability to translate complex challenges into practical solutions

Qualifications

• Experienced strategic leader with a strong aviation background and a track record in complex operational, regulatory or public sector environments.
• Experience in aviation operations, aviation programme delivery, capability development, air services, defence aviation, or other aviation-related settings where safety, coordination and stakeholder engagement are critical.

Responsibilities

• Shape long-term aviation capability and coordination arrangements.
• Lead nationally significant programmes and initiatives.
• Influence strategic investment decisions.
• Strengthen partnerships across government and industry.
• Support the development of modern systems, processes and technology.
